Stencil Resist Workshop With Diana Fayt

Please join me in my studio for an afternoon of learning how to create crisp defined stencil images on clay surfaces. During the workshop you will learn how make a reusable stencil, how to make both negative and positive images with your unique stencil with underglaze and slip, as well as how to use the stencil as a resist to create relief images on your clay surfaces. This will be a fun, no pressure workshop, and all levels of clay experience welcome!
All tools, materials, and one bisque firing is included in the class.

Diana Fayt is a modern-day scrimshaw artist, whose chosen medium is clay rather than whalebone. Diana’s work can be found in myriad of public and private art collections both in the United States and abroad and has taught her skills internationally including, Arrowmont School of Crafts, Santa Fe Clay, Clay Gulgong, Australia and Metchosin School of Crafts, BC as well as developing her own online ceramic e-courses, The Clayer. Her roster of clients includes Heath Ceramics, Anthropologie and Terrain. A graduate of the California College of the Arts, Diana currently lives and works in Portland, Oregon.
